Sobaz Benjamin is an independent documentary film writer, director, producer and picture editor and the founder and Executive Director of In My Own Voice (iMOVe) Arts Association, an innovative arts based youth engagement, empowerment and reintegration program. For over eighteen years Sobaz, has used video and audio production as tools of identity and community development in diverse educational and community settings. His work has been screened across Canada and in venues and Festivals in New Zealand, Bermuda and New York. He has completed documentaries for the National Film Board (NFB) and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
Fred Campbell is a communicator, educator and rural development facilitator who has worked out of Atlantic Canada since 1979. In 1992 he founded Ryakuga, a grassroots participatory communications company specializing in event broadcasting on local FM Radio and the Web. In his career, Fred has taught journalism and communications at post-secondary institutions in Newfoundland and the United Arab Emirates; developed and coordinated a series of multi-community, multi-stakeholder community development projects in Canada, Southeast Asia, Central America and the Caribbean; and presented at national and international conferences in Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Kentucky, Montreal, Vancouver, Halifax, and Rocky Harbour.
